As part of Wellington Jazz Festival, The Undercurrent presents The Iggy Nama Ruci Quartet!
Iggy Nama Ruci is a young beastly saxophonist and flautist residing in Tāmaki. He draws a lot of his inspiration from his time spent touring in India and Cape Town. He brings a fresh and powerful presence with interesting musical ideas through composition and improvisation. This ensemble features a vibrant and energetic rhythm section alongside Iggy Nama Ruci, with a core focus on keeping the music musical.
Iggy's band features Michael Nash on piano, who recently returned from his travels in Switzerland, London and Germany, Max Crook on drums, who is a powerful and creative musician, and rounding out the band is Tyler Diprose on bass, who has only recently returned back from Switzerland where he was playing. It's safe to say this is a gig not to be missed.
