New York based songwriter and composer Allegra Krieger brings her singular blend of folk, rock and indie pop to San Fran on 3 December, joined by special guest Elly Mae.
Known for songwriting that is intimate, understated and deeply observant, Krieger pairs soulful vocals with raw, vulnerable lyricism, moving through themes of love, loss and self-discovery with a striking sense of emotional clarity. Her work has earned praise from the New York Times, who described her as a “deceptively understated songwriter,” while Paste has celebrated the distinctive poetry running through her music.
Having shared stages with artists including Jana Horn, Fust, Johanna Samuels, Shalom and Charlotte Cornfield, Krieger has steadily carved out a space of her own within contemporary indie songwriting, creating music that feels equally at home in moments of quiet reflection and full-band intensity.
Opening the evening is Pōneke songwriter Elly Mae, whose dreamy guitar-led folk-noir draws from the textures of The Brian Jonestown Massacre, PJ Harvey and Mazzy Star. Since first appearing on Wellington stages in early 2025, she has gone on to perform at Newtown Festival, CubaDupa and Flying Nun’s A Month of Saturdays live series, with RNZ describing her sound as a “woozy ethereal slice of dreampop.”
Together, the two artists make for an evening of evocative songwriting, atmospheric guitars and music built around the power of close listening.
