Pyramid Club is excited to present Japanese musician, performance and visual artist Kina:suttsu. Utilising saxophone, electronics, noise, and field recordings, Kina:suttsu creates immersive performances that blur the boundaries between ancient ritual and contemporary experimental music.
Since releasing her first album in 2005, she has performed and exhibited in Japan and internationally. Her releases include music on labels in the UK and France, including a cassette as NAVU and a collaborative release with Phil MFU, Zongamin, E-Da (ex Boredoms, Seefeel). She has recorded with legendary bassist Jah Wobble and released a live recording with Damo Suzuki. In 2021, she appeared in and composed the soundtrack for British filmmaker Daisy Dickinson’s short film Kaki no Shizuku, which was selected for the Los Angeles Film Awards.

vegetable.machine.animal (vma) is an interspecies improvisational trio led by drummer Kieran Monaghan, which transforms the electrical signals of living plants and fungi into sound, fusing modular synths and live percussion in performances that are spontaneous, rhythmic, and unpredictable. This is music as a living system - a real-time collaboration where non-human organisms shape the sonic outcome alongside human performers.
Special thanks to Creative NZ and Wellington City Council for supporting Pyramid Club's programme.
