Marlon Williams & The Yarra Benders tour New Zealand in February to launch their new single Dark Child from Williams’ forthcoming debut album, due for release in April.
Written by Williams’ close friend Tim Moore, Dark Child is a majestic display of restraint and chaos, and perfectly captures the juxtaposition between heavy and light, dark and beautiful that is ever present in Williams work.
Williams is a 2-time New Zealand Music Award winning singer/songwriter from the port town of Lyttelton. After releasing acclaimed albums with The Unfaithful Ways and Delaney Davidson, Williams relocated to Melbourne in mid-2013 and began performing under his own name.
He was called the “Artist To Watch” in 2014 by Rhythms Magazine and lived up to expectations, selling out shows around Australia and New Zealand, touring with Justin Townes Earle and First Aid Kit, featuring on national TV show Rockwiz, performing at the Sydney Opera House for TEDx Sydney and blowing away audiences at major festivals like Meredith, Queenscliff, Mullumbimby, Darwin Festival and Big Sound.
Williams will tour with his new band The Yarra Benders, playing shows in Dunedin, Christchurch, Auckland and Wellington this February with special guests Eb and Sparrow
