Punk It Up Returns!
May 8th 2027 - Whammy
The team at PIU Mission Control are getting their massive planning task into gear again, for another installment of the best punk show in New Zealand, with a metric F-ton of bands, DJs, Art, and everything else that comes with a Punk It Up event, plus we're utilizing the magic of a full Whammy Takeover.
Heck, in fact, there's so many bands we've got on the bill, that we're even going to have a Punk It UP VI Curtain Raiser gig, on the Friday night before at the original Whammy Bar. Separate tickets for that event will go on sale on Jan1 2027, along with the regular priced PIU VI tickets
Bands include the triumphant return of Desperate Measures, originally from from ChCh, who have been rocking the faces off unsuspecting members of the public in the UK and Europe for the last 10 years plus, and decided it was time for a trip home. Older estalished acts like x-Features, Proud Scum, Wofpack (from Aussie), and bankRobbers closing the night with a ton of sing-along covers, plus a few others we're chatting to, will be joined by a bunch of newer bands such as Cootie Cuties, Fork, Cthulus, Kerfuffle - the list goes on and on, and as we have untold other acts ready to confirm, hence the curtain raiser gig on the Friday May 7th, before the whole schebang on Saturday May 8th.
Loads of bands at one event, plus DJs Like Miss Dom, Dubhead, Phil A and more, will be spinning tunes throughout the night, and we're even gonna have an art show and info booths, this ain't your mother's bunch of bands gig, it's Punk It Up!
Tickets for both nights are on sale via Under The Radar, who have graciously decided to let us be one of their last ticketing events. Early Bird tickets for Punk It Up VI will be available through 2026 (a great Xmas present - hint, hint), with tickets for the May 7th Curtain Raiser gig, and regular priced PIU VI tickets from Jan 1st
