DECEITS (USA) Touring Aotearoa New Zealand This Spring

DECEITS (USA) Touring Aotearoa New Zealand This Spring

Chris Cudby / Wednesday 24th June, 2026 9:00AM

Los Angeles ambassadors of darkly romantic gothic post-punk, DECEITS have attracted devotees worldwide into their circle since emerging at the start of this decade. The core duo of Kevin Moreno (vocals / instruments) and Francisco Saenz's (drums / percussions) sole album to date, the self-released If There's No Heaven... is a highly danceable work likely to resonate with Aotearoa's own shadow-dwelling club-goers — radiating the impassioned glow of such touchstones as Seventeen Seconds-era The Cure and local underground heroes Beat Rhythm Fashion. Aotearoa fans and newcomers alike are in for a major treat, as DECEITS have announced a three date tour swooping into Tāmaki Makaurau, Ōtautahi and Pōneke this spring — brought to you by Valhalla Touring and The Slack Agency...

Press release:

Los Angeles post-punk band DECEITS has been building something real from the ground up. Since forming in 2021, longtime friends Kevin Moreno (Vocals/Instruments) and Francisco Saenz (Drums/Percussions) have self-released their entire catalog, quietly amassing millions of streams, selling out tours, and pressing vinyl that disappears just as quickly as it arrives. Their momentum has carried them from the underground to stages like Cruel World 2025 and across their first European tour, all while earning coverage from Post-Punk.com and the Los Angeles Times. DECEITS aren’t interested in playing it safe. Their take on post-punk rejects the genre’s colder edges in favor of something more alive, pulling in the color, rhythm, and emotional intensity of the Spanish-language music they grew up with. The result is a sound that feels both nostalgic and distinctly their own: moody, melodic, and impossible to stand still to.
