Five of the best spoken word performers in QT for one night only!
Join us for a evening of spoken word brilliance, starring the South Auckland Poets Collective and Waxed Poetic Revival... The spoken word movement has taken the world by storm. This is your chance to get in on it.
'Deeply moving', 'life changing' 'heartfelt' - those are just some of the accolades given by our 2014 Outspoken Festival audiences who heard the words of SAPC. Having received a standing ovation in 2014, Marina Alefosio is coming back for an encore! Her sidekicks this time will be Zane Scarborough (2013 Poetry Idol winner) and Onehou Strickland. With their soulful tales of growing up in South Auckland and Pasifika heritage, personal truths and inspirations, they set the stage alight with words.
And because we're promising an EPIC night, we're mixing up crews by welcoming Mohamed Hassan and Rewa Worley of Waxed Poetic Revival, self-described as a collective of four young performance poets, a Maori, a Syrian, an Egyptian and a Kenyan to share the stage. Rising Voices, slam winners and finalists, Mohamed and Rewa tell stories through two different histories.
Food by The Food Pod and full bar available on the night.
