Songs of the Soul is the name given to a group of international musicians who interpret and perform the compositions of Sri Chinmoy, an Indian musician and meditation teacher. Over the past 7 years, more than 200 free concerts in this series have been offered throughout Europe and North America. Their tour of Australia and New Zealand in November 2016 will give listeners the chance to be uplifted and enchanted by Sri Chinmoy’s compositions.
Each concert features accomplished musicians performing classical and contemporary arrangements. Together these performers have put together an evening that will create a richly diverse and inspirational experience.
Highly regarded for his creative capacity, Sri Chinmoy himself performed hundreds of free concerts during his lifetime. He believed that “Music is the universal language. Soulful music is next to meditation, and it carries the beauty and fragrance of silence.”
