The Raven Mavens are a Wellington based duo who perform a mix of blues/jazz based original and cover version songs. Cindy Muggeridge songwriter, vocals, piano, and Marian Carter vocals, clarinet are two slinky songbirds with an energy in their performance that is infectious, and a synergy that defies they are a duo. Cindy, born and raised in New Plymouth and Marian, born and raised in New York City, have been performing together since 2011.
They recently released their second CD, which features one of Cindy’s many original songs, plus a guest appearance by harmonica virtuoso Neil Billington. Neil will be performing with the duo at Fairfield House.
The Raven Mavens will perform some of Cindy's original material as well as covers that include Nina Simone, Hattie Hart, Leonard Cohen,and Gary Moore's I Still Got The Blues For You with the classic guitar solo played hauntingly on clarinet.
