Your opportunity to enjoy a night of supreme musicianship. Three of Christchurch’s praiseworthy technicians will bring passion, style and elegance for a night to remember. Promising a concert in which music thrives with an enthusiasm and dedication from performers who offer the audience the best.
Opening with Tessa White and Jonathan Le Cocq playing a unique blend of music for violin, guitar and mandolin that ranges from Irish, Scottish, Canadian and French traditional music, to intricate jazz and country-inflected fingerstyle, to hard-to-classify originals. Recent appearances include the Christchurch Folk Club and various South-Island folk festivals, most recently the 2017 Cardrona festival.
Jonathan's background in early music, playing with the top performance groups in the country, informs his approach to playing traditional music, and combines with Tessa's youthful, virtuosic tune-playing for an evening of original and dynamic music making.
