Battle of the Bands – National Championship returns for its 24th year with events running from October – December 2019 at multiple venues around the country. Many well-known NZ music artists have been previous winners and finalists of the event; such as FUNGI/(OPSHOP), Tadpole, Blindspott, Bakers Eddy, Skinny Hobos, Strangely Arousing, Brendon Thomas & The Vibes, The Rubics, Alien Weaponry, Pale Lady, Blu Fish, members of I Am Giant, Devilskin and many more.

Each year the event consists of multiple live shows held at leading professional live music venues throughout the country. Bands from all over NZ compete locally for a place at the National Finals held in Auckland and to win a huge prize pool consisting of a Tour of Asia, Australia and NZ, a single produced by world renowned UK producer Steve James, recorded in Brisbane at Red Engine Studios, Global Radio Promotion from USA’s Musik & Film, An Allen & Heath Mixing Desk from Jansen Sound and more.

This year’s National Finals are being held at the official BOTB Auckland venue, the fabulous Anthology Lounge on K’Rd. The National Final will be held over 2 nights on Friday 13th & Saturday 14th December 2019. https://www.anthologykroad.com/ https://www.facebook.com/anthologyKroad/

International Tour: Asia, Australia and NZ: BOTB’s newly added tour prize had its’ launch earlier this year with the inaugural tour featuring both 2017 winners PALE LADY (Wlg) and 2018 winners Blu Fish (Akl), taking the two winning bands on tours dates in NZ, Australia, Philippines, Hong Kong and Singapore this year, the national champions will again win an Asian, Australian and NZ tour which will take place in 2020.
