Gig Information

How DO humans think?
The Julie Lamb Outfit examine just some of the ways in their new 8 track album - aptly titled How Humans Think. The Wellington launch party presents the album, new merchandise and of course... sparkly new stage clothes!

Come and be a VIP Wonder Being - (Yes, yes that is a fancy way of saying audience.)

The night goes like this...
A short set of John O’Connor originals
The Album Set - *cue angelic host of voices and sun breaking through clouds*
The Dance Set - cross your fingers for the return of our old friend level 1! We'll play you our old tried and true bangers, and a couple of carefully selected covers. It'll be hard to resist the lure of the dance floor - so if we're still at level 2 - we'll organise some seated line dancing...

Crikey! That’s a night and a half. All for the price of... koha! WAT?!?!
Mind you, don’t kid yourselves. The merch, album artwork, pop up CD and limited edition prints will have you interested in parting with some hard earned lockdown savings... You know it! See you there... Oh yeah, and come early... Eva Beva have a great menu XxJ

Anyone who has seen the Wellington-based Julie Lamb Outfit live, knows they are as tightly woven as that machine knitted jumper your mum made for you in the 70s - and keep you feeling just as warm. Claire Symonds - Freelance Journalist

A little about us:

The Julie Lamb Outfit is an 8 piece collaborative music family throwing down kick-arse funky pop originals.
Get between the stories and the grooves and find yourself in a high energy, smile-a-minute space.

Having a large band means that collective experiences will out. The personality of each piece is tinged by that. (As well as the shared pizza meals!)

A large band also means the music is arranged. Everyone needs a chance to shine. Both album reviewers and live audiences talk about how fabulous it is to hear each instrument, how impressive that we leave space for each other, and how much fun we convey we're having... which is infectious for them too.

Well, when you enjoy being with people, respect what they do, and laugh with them a lot - it shows on a gig. That easy.

Mischief, stories, sentiment, groove. Not always in that order.
