Alda Rezende, with the originality of her voice and delivery, will enchant connoisseurs of Brazilian rhythms and everyone interested in great music.
In her native Brazil Alda has performed alongside major artists such as Elza Soares, João Bosco, Fernanda Takai from Pato Fu and many others. Alda has found her home in New Zealand where she is a veteran of the jazz circuit, performing at events such as Auckland Arts festival, Christchurch Arts Festival, Adelaide Cabaret festival, Pura Vida - Melbourne Recital Centre and headlining Wellington International Jazz Festival.
Along the years, Alda lead and participated in several projects such as OE:Brazil, Live Brazil Festival, Zirigidum, Latin Club (a unique vibe of Latin music performances) and Tutakitaki (a musical project that celebrates culture collaboration and blends Māori and Brazilian music). She is also a host for the world music show Global Pulse on Wellington’s iconic Radio Active.
In her first show in Tauranga, Alda will be joined by a first class team of local musicians for an evening of sophisticated Brazilian music. DJ DaLua will play after the show to keep the party going!
