Appearing at the Levin Folk Music Club with fellow Eagals Jude Madill and Jo Sheffield on Friday, June 11th, Nicky has had some great musical experiences since growing up on the Kapiti Coast. Currently living and studying in Wellington, she covers a variety of songs from different genres and takes inspiration from artists such as Gillian Welch, Amos Lee and Elton John.
She has played in bands in Palmerston North (Ben and the Believers, Ruahine Rangers, Ukebox) and recently joined the all woman, folk-style Eagles tribute band The Eagals. She has also been a part of a female acappella choir “The Shicka Chickas” for the last two years in Wellington and participated in recent NZ folk festivals.
Expect a very enjoyable concert from this versatile musician, followed by a light supper and an open mic blackboard where other performers can present one song each.
Admission is $10 public/$5 members or reciprocal folk club members/$3 children.
