Three different flavours of aural ear tickling

Hail, Meteor! is a bi-lingual, post-punk death-pop band from Te Whanganui-a-Tara. Featuring Isobel Joy te Aho-White (bass, vocals), David Coventry (guitar, vocals) Simon Waterfield (drums, samples), Stephen Gallagher (keyboards) and John Kingston (guitar, reverb), the band has extensive links to the New Zealand alternative music scene. From Marineville to Breathe, from Nullity to Celine, from Box of Hammers to La Gloria, from stellar* to Clay and many more, Hail, Meteor! is focused on dense, chaotic harmony, on gasped melody and swaying widths of space. Te Aho-White’s vocals draw on the varying essences of a mixed heritage to sing post-punk psalms to existentialism, to the divine feminine, to healing, mental illness, death and introversion. The band’s debut EP, Fourth Horse, will be available late April when the band make their debut at Moon in Newtown. Expect volume, size and the healing warmth of reverberant melody.

Somnambulists drifting through the wasteland, licking their wounds, tearing at flesh. Levitated by spirits at dawn, Evelyn's War is the music of the end times, a final sound. When everyone is gone, who do you cling to...?
