Just Char is an Auckland-based singer/songwriter from New Zealand. Char has had a long-lasting passion for music since a young age. Char began sharing their music in the hopes that it would mean something to someone like it has meant to them throughout their life. Taking inspiration from artists such as Clairo and Mallrat, Char combines soft, intimate lyrics and vocals that drip with emotion to create songs about heartbreak, love, and life in an indie style.
Sophie Gibson is a singer/songwriter based in Auckland, New Zealand.
Originally from Scotland, Sophie moved to New Zealand with her family in 2005 and grew up in the small town of Katikati in the Bay of Plenty.
Losing her older brother to suicide in 2015 is the driving force behind her beautiful, yet powerful and emotional lyrics. Since his passing, her music has become an important vessel for sharing mental health awareness.
Sophie’s music is inspired by nature, a collaboration with U.S. band Amite being released for the video game “Beyond Blue,” entitled “Something in the Water.” Her recent release “Deeper Waters” is an exploration of the emotions of hope and despair that come along with grieving a loss from suicide.
