Blair Jollands is an Emmy & Bafta nominated sound designer and singer songwriter. Straight off the back of his tour supporting Nick Oliveri’s Death Acoustic (Queens Of The Stoneage) European tour he will be in NZ this April promoting his latest EP Hide No More (El Hula) and his LP Holograms. Having won the admiration of both David Bowie & Boy George (who released Blair’s previous material under the name El Hula on his More Protein label), Jollands’ music communicates a paradoxical mix of melancholia and optimism that is hard to resist. Holograms is an album big on melody & mystery with a hint of Morricone. Often compared vocally to Lana Del Rey, Nick Cave, Rufus Wainwright & Scott Walker, Jollands has received much praise from the likes of NME, Guardian Uncut, Artrocker, and more.
Known for his soundtracks & sound design on the Emmy & Golden Globe nominated Shackleton, Netflix’s series Bodies plus his Bafta nominated Sky Atlantic series Fortitude staring Michael Gambon, the artist Blair Jollands releases his critically acclaimed album Holograms via MARS Worldwide Label Group. Originally from Grey Lynn, Aucklan, Jollands is currently based in London, UK.
Jollands has worked with Madonna and Rhianna, Jammed with Grace Jones and James 'Sparks' Sinclair (Johnny Cash), and collaborated with Gordon Raphael (The Strokes).
