The Upswing returns for our last summer session in 2024 at the Piha Bowling Club. After January's epic sold-out show with Nathan Haines, we are excited to host another kiwi legend of high-calibre dance music, DJ/Producer Frank Booker! Known for his electrifying DJ sets and sophisticated fusion of house, underground disco, and boogie. Get ready for another humdinger at the Bowler!

“Based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa, Frank Booker has built a worldwide reputation for incredible edits and amazing DJ sets. His highly acclaimed production output has been released on vinyl via the likes of Razor-N-Tape (USA), Wonderful Noise (Japan), Disco Deviance (UK), Sleazy Beats (Netherlands) and more.
His music has been supported by the likes of Dam Swindle, Natasha Diggs, The Blessed Madonna, Optimo, Mr Scruff, and Jimpster amongst many others.
Touring extensively since 2012, Booker has made his way through Australia, Japan, Great Britain, Ireland, France, Holland, Switzerland, USA and Brazil playing alongside the likes of Moodymann, DJ Harvey, Gilles Peterson, Folamour and Dam Funk amongst others.
He is a festival regular performing headline sets at the likes of Flamingo Pier, Splendor in the Grass, Splore and many more. In 2022 he launched his own flagship event, House Of Booker with a sold out show at Auckland’s Neck of the Woods. Booker was the DJ of choice for a private party for Prince when he visited Aotearoa in 2016.
2023 saw the release of his debut album on Razor N Tape (USA). A production showcasing the range of influences he is known for: House, Boogie, Disco and more with a vast list of collaborators from Aotearoa and beyond.”
