Named after a local paper road, Steep Street has been playing together since last year and is currently recording an album for release in late 2024/early 2025. Songs, written by Harold, blend elements of alt-folk and country, with a heart laid bare (and a nod to the Dunedin sound). Telling Tales was a solo release from Harold in 2018 available on usual digital platforms. Bass player Bridget, also a songwriter, performs under the name Swingbridge and has released several previous albums. Steep Street has previously played support for Jay Clarkson and The Spur Line at Pearl Diver. Band members are Harold Bernhardt vocals/guitar, Alan McCulloch mandolin/violin, Bridget Ellis bass/vocals and Allen Frazer drums
