Gig Information

To celebrate the release of her debut single 'Money Bag,' Tāmaki Makaurau-based indie rock artist Evie Bamford is putting on her first ever headline show with support from folk-pop duo Marmalade!

Recorded live on a farm in Matakana by engineer Ally Doe, mixed by Tom Broome, and self-produced by Evie, ‘Money Bag’ is a jazz-centric indie rock track with a killer trumpet solo, satirical lyrics, and a metric modulation that leads to a synth-heavy bridge. This track takes aim at the harsh realities of career pressure, capitalism, and the 40-hour work week that many 20-somethings face – especially in Aotearoa’s unforgiving cost of living and unemployability climate.

'Money Bag' will be released on Friday 28 November and you can pre-save the single here: https://music.drm.co.nz/money-bag

About Evie Bamford:
Evie Bamford is a guitarist, clarinettist, vocalist and songwriter from Tāmaki Makaurau. Her indie-rock project blends her background in jazz and classical music, using intentional instrumentation and intricate harmonic changes to create an introspective and uplifting sound.

Throughout 2025, Evie and her band mates (Hugo Butler, Jeremy Richardson, James MacEwan and Rory Johns) have been carving out their place in Auckland’s live scene, moving audiences with strong songwriting, danceable grooves, and bridges that fold out into luscious, thought-provoking landscapes. If you’re a fan of Faye Webster, Alice Phoebe Lou or Ullah, Evie Bamford’s warm sound is one to watch.

About Marmalade:
Jemilah & Koen are the Auckland-based duo Marmalade. Swinging somewhere between folk-pop and indie-rock, Jemilah & Koen bring you a stripped-back version of their usual full-band sound. Their honest lyricism floats above laid-back acoustic guitars and delicious harmonies to create a juicy jar full of sounds.

Marmalade’s debut single ‘Bright’ gained traction fast after its release in June and charted at #2 on the NZ singles charts. Their debut EP ‘Sober’, released in 2024, was extremely well-received around Aotearoa, hauling in positive reviews from Rolling Stone Magazine, Rat World Magazine, and more, while it’s still doing the rounds on several commercial and student radio networks around the world.
