Weekly Round Up: Friday 27th November

Friday 27th November, 2015 1:33PM

Some great tours were announced this week. Today alone, we were stoked to reveal that The Jesus And Mary Chain are heading this way next March to perform their seminal debut album Psychocandy in its entirety. Husker Du's Grant Hart is coming to New Zealand in February to headline Woodcock festival and undertake a nationwide tour. And SoCal skate punks Agent Orange will be hitting Whammy for one show in the new year. Earlier this week also delivered some good news, with Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys announcing he will be performing Pet Sounds along with some of his greatest hits to Auckland audiences in March. Avant-garde hip hop artist Le1f will also be on these shores for one show in January. In festival news, Womad expanded its line-up for next year by adding De La Soul, St Germain, Korean duo [suːm] and Hindi film playback singer, Asha Bhosle. And sadly, Echo Festival was cancelled due to low ticket sales.

In release news, we were more than happy to get our hands on the amazing new single from Wellington noise-punk duo T.A.B from the latest NoFi compilation out via End Of The Alphabet Records. We were also super impressed by the new tune 'Mother's Veil' from Auckland's Trust Punks, which takes a change of pace from their usual offerings. The Chills also shook loose a new song which was adapted from a wee snippet off their latest album Silver Bullets. Ryan Harte from Sunken Seas shared a bevy of ambient drone offerings under his solo moniker Tzar Behemoth. And we were pleased to be able to share a preview stream of Pumice's excellent new album Puddles, which came with a fascinating write up by Stefan himself. And The Conjurors also let loose their new EP 'Hints' on Bandcamp so we can soak it up digitally as well as buy it on vinyl.

This week's Caught Live is some fan-shot footage of Aussie post-punk outfit Total Control performing 'Sweaty / Flesh War' live in Paris...
