Weekly Round Up: Friday 5th February

Friday 5th February, 2016 11:50AM

Thursday saw a windfall of tour news for the week. Prolific experimental composer Ensemble Economique announced three New Zealand shows for February. Hip hop artist Danny Brown will be returning to these shores for a one-off show for The Powerstation in April. Also working his way back to Auckland in April is rapper Vic Mensa - who has been putting the finishing touches on his debut album. Globally divided rock act The Datsuns have lined up an Auckland show for April 1st and shared a brand new video for 'Claw Machine'. Earlier this week Berlin-based act Bonaparte revealed a string of dates around the country for February and March. And in festival news, Auckland City Limits organisers made their final line-up announcement for the inaugural event.

Release news has been fairly busy on the local front this week. Wellington psych-rock group Red Sky Blues premiered new track 'H I G H P L A C E S' as they gear up to release a new album. The formidable Beastwars unleashed the roaring lead single from their upcoming third record, which will be titled The Death Of All Things. Wellington six-piece Moses shared anxiety-ridden new single 'No More Shall You Call'. And Christchurch's Wurld Series unveiled two news songs as they prepare to release a new tape via American label Voyager Golden Records. Further abroad, Primal Scream revealed a new electro-pop cut featuring vocals from it girl Sky Ferreira. And Stereolab's Tim Gane is gearing up to release a new album with his Berlin-based project Cavern Of Anti-Matter.

This week's Caught Live video is a swoon-worthy clip of Wellington's Womb performing 'Earth' as a five-piece band...
