Weekly Round Up: Friday 1st April

Friday 1st April, 2016 1:48PM

The short week following Easter Weekend wasn't very fruitful in terms of tour announces, but some cool releases came out of the woodwork. Locally, we were stoked to be able to present a premiere of the debut album from Auckland trio avoid!avoid, which is out officially today. We also shared the stripped back cover of 1D's 'Happily' as performed by Repulsive Woman, otherwise known as Mille Lovelock from Astro Children. Dominic Hoey aka Tourettes let loose a scathing new single as he hits the road to tour with country singer Will Wood. Auckland artist Herriot Row unveiled the beautiful track 'Learning Not To Talk' in the lead up to releasing his new album. And sonic adventurer Noel Meek shared the warbling opener from his forthcoming full-length record.

In international news, we absolutely adore the new offering from New York gloom rockers Psychic Ills featuring vocals from Mazzy Star's Hope Sandoval. We also enjoyed the new single which surfaced from Canada's Holy Fuck as they prepare to release their first record in six years. And it was fantastic to see LCD Soundsystem reunited back and into the swing of things as they performed their first concert since 2011, you can watch them work through 'Get Innocuous' at Webster Hall over here.

This week's Caught Live is the wonderful Tami Neilson and band delivering a powerful rendition of 'Cry Over You' for Canada's q magazine...
