UTR Premiere: Watch The Beths' New Video For 'Whatever' (+ Interview)

Wednesday 25th May, 2016 10:19AM

UnderTheRadar is delighted to present the brand new video for 'Whatever', the highly addictive single from Auckland's rising indie-rock darlings The Beths. Directed by Alex Hoyles of Pikdat, the video sees the bandmembers faced with their stuff blinking out of existence, yet they carry on as though nothing much has happened.

Frontwoman Elizabeth Stokes says the song is about being "let down by someone, stood up, so many times you start to expect it." And the video's concept evolved from there, as she explains further:"I liked the idea of objects and people in the video disappearing, but not really acknowledging their absence beyond a kind of resignation." Watch below...

Sophie Scott-Maunder spoke to The Beths while they were in Wellington to play at Eyegum Wednesday's last week. Head over here to read the interview, and check this week's Eyegum line-up over here.
