Weekly Round Up: Friday 27th January

Friday 27th January, 2017 2:02PM

In tour news this week, we were delighted to reveal that experimental electronica duo Crystal Castles are heading this way for an Auckland show in May. And readers were certainly happy to learn that Cyndi Lauper is coming to the country for the first time ever, but as a cherry on top she will be coming for a joint headline tour with none other than Blondie. And on the local front, Auckland emo-punk trio How Get announced a six-date nationwide jaunt to celebrate the release of their new EP, The Isthmus which is available for streaming today.

In release news, Auckland's Cut Off Your Hands have let loose their new Talking Heads-esque single 'Higher Lows and Lower Highs'. An awesome post-punk tune called 'Tongue' has surfaced from Yukon Era. Further abroad, Real Estate released their new song 'Darling' along with a video featuring a show-stealing horse called Moose. It was a fruitful week for Angel Olsen, who shared a stunning new single called 'Fly On Your Wall' for an anti-Trump compilation, as well as releasing a new video for 'Pops' which is lifted off her last album. And we were psyched to be able to share the new self-titled record from Ty Segall for your streaming pleasure ahead of its official release.

This week's featured Caught Live is Brooklyn-based soundscapist Mike Wexler delivering a sweet rendition of 'Ayin' from within the courtyard of an old Parisian factory ...
