Weekly Round Up: Friday 17th March
In tour news this week we were delighted to announce that The Bats will be embarking on a four-date tour to celebrate the release of their new record The Deep Set. Ninja Tune producer Bonobo is returning to Auckland with a full band in tow for one show in July. Electronic artist Roland Tings is crossing the ditch next month to support the release of his latest EP, Each Moment A Diamond. Psychedelic dance duo Dual are celebrating the release of their debut EP with a nationwide jaunt in April. And Hamiltonian purveyors of heavy slowness Arc of Ascent have announced a North Island tour to support their new album Realms Of The Metaphysical.
Lots of cool releases came out of the woodwork this week. Christchurch bedcore crew Wurld Series shook loose their debut album Air Goofy. Capital city dwellers Teeth shared gnashing new single 'Succubus' as they ready to release their debut album next month. Meanwhile Girls Pissing On Girls Pissing leaked a couple of tracks from their new record Songs Of Sodomy And Compost Of Aethyr ahead of its release next week. Auckland slow noise ensemble Axes To Grind shared a captivating two song EP tracked live during a show at Wine Cellar. And also coming outta Auckland was the charming five-song offering from Pixels for your streaming pleasure.
For this week's Caught Live we stumbled across this great clip of Wellington's Unsanitary Napkin tearing things up at Northcote Social Club during their recent tour to Australia...
