In this week's tour news, we were pleased to announce that Sun Kil Moon is coming to New Zealand for one show in May off the back of releasing the epic double album Common As Light And Love Are Red Valleys Of Blood. British post-punk outfit The Wedding Present revealed the dates for a five-show tour on these shores in July. Long-standing Aussie punk rockers The Hard-Ons are jumping the ditch for two North Island appearances in June. Next month will see UK garage duo Maribou State gracing NZ soil for two shows. And the line-up was revealed for this year's Psych Fest, which will take place in Auckland next weekend.
In release news, so much good stuff came to the fore this week. Highlights have to include the hyped up new cut 'Page Of Pentacles' from Wellington's Hex. Dunedin gothronica trio Elan Vital unveiled their highly-anticipated debut album Shadow Self. Kane Strang let loose his contribution to the unfolding Our First 100 Days anti-Trump compilation in the form of the excellent single 'Hypochondria'. The Grow Room affiliate WhyFi let loose his first full-length offering Dishwash Cookie. Girls Pissing On Girls Pissing put forth their impressive double album Songs Of Sodomy and Compost Of Aethyr. And from further abroad, Feist shared the first single from her upcoming album Pleasure. And The Jesus and Mary Chain rolled out their first album in 19 years, Damage and Joy.
This week's Caught Live is The Black Lips performing their brand new song 'Can't Hold On' live at SXSW. The cut is from the group's upcoming record Satan's Graffiti or God's Art, due on in May. To check out the studio version head over here, and watch them knock it out live below...
