Christchurch-based musician Sam Perry, who is perhaps best known for his work helming Zen Mantra and as one-fourth of synth-pop outfit Yumi Zouma, has released a new eight-track instrumental record entitled Electric Hell. The self recorded, mixed and mastered effort sees Perry step away from the psychedelic-shoegaze style of his Zen Mantra output in favour of a hard-walled industrial sound that would easily find a home as the soundtrack for a modern noir film.
