IllBaz + MELODOWNZ + Raiza Biza Drop Single 'Live Stream' Ft. TEEKS

Friday 15th June, 2018 9:08AM

Aotearoa hip hop rising stars IllBaz, MELODOWNZ and Raiza Biza have come together like Voltron for High Beams, a seven track project due out in July, and have shared the first single from the collection 'Live Stream' featuring Taite-nominated soul artist TEEKS. The track is accompanied by a cinematic clip directed by Connor Pritchard (who also directed the great new video for Lukan Rai$ey and Dirty's '95 Premium'), showing the winning trio busting out politically-charged rhymes over IllBaz's moody beats.

The amazing lineup for High Beams doesn't stop with 'Live Stream', artists announced for the project include Che Fu, Dirty (Eno x Dirty) and High Hoops. High Beams is described as "shining a light on things that are discarded or overlooked, especially living in New Zealand, a country so distant from conflicts and human injustice on a large scale." Raiza Biza shared his thoughts on the project in a statement...

“This is not a political project in particular, but those themes are things we each think about often... Baz being from Palestine, myself being from Rwanda, and Melo being Polynesian. We see and deal with these issues daily. Most of our common ground lies in what makes us different, but at the end of the day, we are young people who want to be happy. No different to other young people. We like to have fun but not at the expense of being true to ourselves.”

'High Beams' is out Friday 27th July.
