MeloDownz Drops Video 'Peace $igns, Gang $igns'

Wednesday 31st October, 2018 1:39PM

Avondale hip hop artist MeloDownz has shared a stunning visual accompaniment to his dualistic single ‘Peace $igns, Gang $igns’. Directed and edited by Jordan Cherrington with visual effects by 10Daniel16 and Connor Pritchard, the cosmic clip depicts the rapper meditating in a suburban landscape on the light and dark facets of the human condition. It's first single from the rhyme-slinger’s forthcoming double EP MELO & BLUES set to drop in November on his own label Liightside, and will showcase the talents of Louis Baker, Troy Kingi, Villette, Christoph El Truento, Mikos Da Gawd and UK rapper COOPS. MeloDownz provided insight into his track and how it draws inspiration from the Cherokee parable of The Fight of Two Wolves Within You, which you can read below the video...

"I hope that people understand that humans are multi-faceted and there's constantly an inter-play between our internal good wolf and bad wolf like in the old Cherokee saying - we showcase this concept quite heavily in the music video."

The Fight of Two Wolves Within You

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life:
“A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.
”It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil–he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”
He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you–and inside every other person, too.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf will win?”
The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

'MELO & BLUES' is out on Friday 23rd November through MeloDownz’ own record label, Liightside.
