Weekly Roundup: Friday 26th July

It's been a weird news week of stops and starts but it's ending with a bang, as a huge wave of local release parties and other celebratory events will be duking it out over the coming weekend. Announcement highlights for the week including The Others Way festival not only revealed the dazzling full lineup of locals and internationals set to take over Auckland's Karangahape Road district in late August, but they also announced the first ever Wellington sideshow for the multi-venue mega-event. More sonic treats to add to your calendar include Sydney sibling duo Lime Cordiale are bringing their sun-baked tunes back to Aotearoa this spring for a three-stop tour, Melbourne synth /art-pop unit Jade Imagine are playing a trio of NZ headline events orbiting their appearance at The Others Way 2019, and Tāmaki Makaurau's Basement Theatre is battening down the hatches for a massive club blowout featuring electronic dance mavericks Aw B, Half Queen, Mongo Skato and PG/VG.

Our hardworking roving reporter Fluffy brought us not one but two insightful interviews with artists who dropped significant local releases today.
