Renee-Louise Carafice Shares New Album 'Goners'
US via Aotearoa electronic bedroom-pop artist Renee-Louise Carafice has returned with Goners, her first long player since 2014's Power Animals. Finding beauty in catharsis, Carafice's new record delineates a "map of one woman's journey through the experience of grieving," originally compelled by the death of four of her pets in 2016. Carafice unpacks and explores her theme across ten immaculately arranged and sonically adventurous tunes – ranging in breadth from the emotionally tender, keys-driven avant-pop balladry of 'A Boy Sparrow' to the celestial synth-soaked vistas of 'May the Ground Refuse You'.
"I suddenly and intensely needed to know what happens after death. I needed to know where my little ones had gone. I had never believed in or been interested in life after death, but now it was necessary to find out."
