Sarah Mary Chadwick Shares Luna Park Clip For 'Please Daddy'

Sarah Mary Chadwick Shares Luna Park Clip For 'Please Daddy'

A.K. / Thursday 21st May, 2020 1:32PM

Melbourne-based, Taumarunui-born performer and occasional 147-year-old grand organ player Sarah Mary Chadwick (Batrider) has unleashed the demos from her Please Daddy opus that came out in January this year, and is spoiling us with a new video for the title track. Director Brent Griffin spent a day with Chadwick at Luna Park, and miraculously transforms a creepy locale and a heart-rending ballad into something quite sweet. Slo-mo laughing clowns and a sunset ferris wheel ride puts a romantic spin on the choked-up track, a far cry from the original version of the song on Please Daddy, The Demos. Once called 'Can't A Have My Own', 'Please Daddy' is raw and stumbling, with echoing vocal layers placing Chadwick in some lonely, cavernous space. Take the single for another spin below, taking on a new light in a sideshow by the seashore...

Sarah Mary Chadwick's ‘Please Daddy, The Demos’ is available now for digital purchase.
