Swallow The Rat, M0ppy, Bitter Defeat Hamilton Show Announced

Chris Cudby / Tuesday 9th June, 2020 9:46AM

Following the thrilling news Aotearoa has shifted to Level 1 alert status, Tāmaki Makaurau noise-rockers Swallow The Rat have announced their triumphant return to the stage next Friday 19th June – playing a triple bill, no limits live show at Hamilton's Nivara Lounge alongside electronic whizz-kid M0ppy (Thom Burton of Guardian Singles, SoccerPractise) and lo-fi pop crew Bitter Defeat. This gig bookends a turbulent period for the four-piece, which saw their March US tour required to wrap up early (and suddenly) due to the coronavirus outbreak, unfortunately resulting in guitarist Brian Purington being an early high profile local sufferer of Covid-19. With Swallow The Rat's new album Leaving Room out now and gigs back in action with no restrictions, things are definitely looking up but we're not out of the woods yet – you can support your local scene by donating to Nivara Lounge's Save Our Venues fundraiser if you have the means to do so via grabbing tickets below...
