The project of reimagined songs came about when the four-piece had to cancel their sold-out US tour after just one show done and their third full length album Truth Or Consequences ripe for celebration. With not a lot to do other than have existential crises, Yumi Zouma sustained the energy of the album drop, regrouped and stepped into alternate timelines for each track. What if 'Southwark' was recorded with acoustic pop guitar? How about 'Magazine Bay' with Whitney'esque bass and vocals? The first alternate single 'Lie Like You Want Me Back' was a crystal clear proof of concept; transforming a high energy synth-pop song into a version with piano, shoegazey fuzz and a sample of Janet Frame reciting Scarlet Tanager, Saratoga Springs.
