Sarah Mary Chadwick Shares New Album 'Me & Ennui Are Friends, Baby'

She's done it, Sarah Mary Chadwick has written a flawless Valentine's album: Me & Ennui Are Friends, Baby. A little less dramatic than the one she played on a 147 year-old grand organ, this record is just Chadwick, a normal piano, and her usual, inimitable lyrics. Me & Ennui Are Friends, Baby is the last in a three-part project, preceded by LPs The Queen Who Stole The Sky and Please Daddy, and judging by its availability on floss pink vinyl and Chadwick's cherry red nails on the cover, this is clearly the most romantic of the trio. From the touching line "I'm a sucker for anyone who's distant and aloof" on 'Always Falling' to her ode to useless men on tender single 'Every Loser Needs A Mother', Chadwick sure knows how to write about modern romance.

For any Melbourne-based fans, she's lined up a four week residency in Brunswick where she'll play every song on the new album and a few other favourites every Friday this month. Please attend if you can, for Valentine's day I would really like a video of the entire crowd singing along to 'Every Loser Needs A Mother' — or to any of these gobsmacking tracks tbh...

Sarah Mary Chadwick's seventh studio album 'Me And Ennui Are Friends, Baby' is out now via Rice Is Nice Records / Ba Da Bing.
