The very first signee to Aotearoa pop megastar Benee's imprint Olive, Raglan rising talent Muroki has attracted an avid following of his own through extensive touring and April's launch of his assuredly soulful six song debut Dawn EP. Taking its title from the English translation of his Swahili name (Muroki translates to “come with the dawn”), Muroki treated RNZ listeners to two crisp renditions of summery groovers 'Wavy' and 'Open Up' (no, not the Leftfield & Lydon banger of the same name) from the new collection, performed with band at Samoa House on Tāmaki Makaurau’s Karangahape Road. They'll be keeping punters toasty this weekend as Muroki brings his Autumn Express Tour with The Butlers to a close at his hometown's Raglan Club, experience beautifully filmed footage of both songs here...
