David Dallas Announces 'The Rose Tint' Anniversary Tour + Vinyl Reissue
Ten years ago, when people were rocking shutter shades and I was heading to all-ages gigs in suspenders, David Dallas dropped his head-turning sophomore album The Rose Tint on Dawn Raid, earning himself a Pacific Music Award and oodles of Aotearoa Music Award nominations. At the time Dallas made his second solo album free to download, and a decade later The Rose Tint is finally being pressed to wax for a super limited run of vinyl reissues (pre-orders appear to be already sold out!). Speaking on the album Dallas said, “10 years ago, I did something with my mates that changed my life. Much thanks to everyone who has showed love since”, and he'll be returning the love with a nationwide, four-stop tour to celebrate the big anniversary. 2021 marks the tenth anniversary of David Dallas’ monumental album - The Rose Tint. Since its release, David has cemented himself as one of New Zealand’s finest musical icons. Viewed as one of New Zealand’s HipHop’s greatest musical and cultural offerings, The Rose Tint saw David collect accolades, awards and audiences both here at home and across the world.
Initially released as a free download to the masses on May 8th 2011, David marked its 10th anniversary with a run of limited pressings of the classic album on vinyl. To add to the festivities, David Dallas and his band The Daylight Robbery will reunite, and embark on a four-date national tour that will see him hit stages in Wellington, Christchurch, Tauranga and Auckland.
