Listen To Troy Kingi's 'Te Wai Nō Rua Whetū' From 'Kono 003'

The terrific and prolific Troy Kingi graces our Monday with a te reo Māori reimagining of one of his breakout tracks 'Aztechknowledgey', first released in 2017 on sophomore album Shake That Skinny Ass All The Way To Zygertron. No stranger to cooking up exciting collaborations, just this year the 2021 APRA Silver Scroll Award / Kaitito Kaiaka finalist has released his folk album Black Sea Golden Ladder with Lyttelton legend Delaney Davidson as part of his 10 10 10 Series, shared single 'He Ōrite' from his upcoming album with The Nudge, and been an integral part of TV series The Panthers' original soundtrack. His latest drop, titled 'Te Wai Nō Rua Whetū', is the first taste from five track compilation Kono 003, curated by Loop Recordings in conjunction with Waiata Anthems week (6 to 12 September). Out in full this Friday, the record will also feature Te Reo Māori renditions from Anna Coddington, Ria Hall, Katchafire and The Nudge.
