Mousey Returns With Single / Video 'The Bench'

Ōtautahi folk darling Sarena Close aka Mousey is back with punchy new track 'The Bench', plus a high energy clip co-created with director extraordinaire Martin Sagadin. Produced by Lyttelton legend Ben Edwards, this is the first Mousey single since her Auckland Live Best Independent Debut award-nominated album Lemon Law dropped in 2019, and after a massive year of tours with Zoé Mi and Pickle Darling, the pep levels are still through the roof on the furious pop-rock of 'The Bench'. Close says the track is a much-needed outlet and "crazy, feminist bop" for all her "bad experiences and frustrations with boys in high school and similarly later in life", now condensed into less than three minutes of glorious, explosive jangly power-pop. The video, made with support from NZ On Air, sees Close giving an attitude-packed physical performance, strutting and finger-waggling with her all-girl band, channelling the hypnotic stage presence of a rock'n'roll arena star.
