Die! Die! Die! Unveil Video 'The Vanish Session' (Live at Roundhead Studios)

Die! Die! Die! Unveil Video 'The Vanish Session' (Live at Roundhead Studios)

Chris Cudby / Friday 4th March, 2022 12:06PM

Out today as an audio-visual treat for fans currently unable to experience Die! Die! Die!'s famously furious energy firsthand, the Aotearoa trio have unleashed a suitably noisy live video filmed in the resplendent surrounds of Tāmaki's Roundhead Studios. Starring the team of Andrew Wilson, Michael Prain and Lachlan Anderson tearing through five songs from their just-released album This Is Not An Island Anymore, The Vanish Session was directed and recorded by Steven Marr (who also recorded the new record), with green screen backdrops created by Night Lunch's Liam Hoffman. Rocking a Ducklingmonster designed Coolies tee in the vid, Wilson explained the impetus for the session, made with support from NZ On Air...

"We obviously can't tour at the moment, but we wanted to celebrate the release of 'This Not An Island Anymore' by performing live. Any live session needed to do the record justice, so we knew we needed to do it where and with who we recorded the album, and luckily, Roundhead was free! We were huge fans of Steven's Radio One live to air sessions, especially the Night Lunch one, so we asked Liam Hoffman from Night Lunch if he would make the visuals to make up for the lack of audience! We sent him the album and the lyrics, and he created the visual masterpiece which plays behind us!"

Die! Die! Die!'s new album 'This Is Not An Island Anymore' is out now digitally, and on CD, cassette and vinyl.
