Mousey Shares New Album 'My Friends' + Announces Nationwide Tour of Aotearoa

Friday brings a bounty of musical riches from Mousey aka Sarena Close, who today unveils her second album My Friends, launched with the announcement of a four date nationwide release tour happening in April, plus an uplifting DIY video for 'One Dollar Wednesdays'. The Ōtautahi artist achieves the high bar set by her 2019 Silver Scroll and Best Independent Debut nominated album Lemon Law on the new collection, which includes previous student radio hits 'The Bench' and 'My Hands Are Made Of Glass' plus seven fresh stunners, roaming the range in style yet tied together by Close's spine-tingling, folk-inflected vocal powers and sophisticated instrumental arrangements — sounding absolutely gigantic or disarmingly tender as the occasion calls.

Ōtautahi-based artist Mousey is touring Aotearoa tour to celebrate the release of her new album My Friends, out now! Starting in Christchurch on April 2nd, she will present her bewitching songwriting and vocal talents to four lucky cities across the country, joined by her band as well as some talented locally sourced support acts.

My Friends is the first music from Mousey since her Silver-Scroll and Auckland Live Best Independent Debut award-nominated debut album Lemon Law dropped in 2019. Listeners have already been given a taste of what's to come with knock-out first single, 'The Bench,’ praised by Undertheradar as “glorious, explosive jangly power-pop”, and shot to #1 on the New Zealand Alt Charts!
