Bryony Matthews Unveils Single / Video 'Yellow Flowers'

Chris Cudby / Monday 23rd May, 2022 9:37AM

Ōtautahi songwriter Bryony Matthews follows February's assured first new single in five years 'Who Am I Now' with fresh stunner 'Yellow Flowers'. Recorded with friends Amiria Grenell, Josh Holmes (Junus Orca), Victoria Knopp, Alice Tanner and Ryan Fisherman (who recorded and co-produced the song with Holmes), Matthews reflects upon waving goodbye to comforts of the past in 'Yellow Flowers', craving new spaces in which to explore and grow — an urge most probably relatable to many New Zealanders unable to venture abroad during the past two years. The dreamy folk-pop tune's self-directed visuals depict Matthews wandering sun-dappled pathways through the artist's childhood home of Golden Bay, filmed by Marc Wilson. Experience the lush clip below and keep on the lookout for a full album of songs from Matthews launching later this year...

'Yellow Flowers' is out now on major streaming platforms.
