Listen To French Concession's Single + Video 'Future Life'
Inspired by her "teenage years and the fall of democratic Hong Kong", Sydney-based multi-disciplinary artist French Concession (Ella Chau) unveils a new track and a neon-drenched, self-animated visual accompaniment - a stunning feat considering the original video was lost. 'Future Life' follows in the reality-bending footsteps of 2020 track 'Peak', both playing with pitch-shifted vocals and dreamlike soundscapes, taking a step away from the dream-pop stylings of debut album The Garden Of Synthetic Sentiments. Despite the song's themes of lost connection, Chau writes that they wanted 'Future Life' "to celebrate teenage hopes and dreams, because I believe they are the things that drive change in this world", paired with a futuristic clip that tells a story of "two friends going through times of turmoil". Enjoy a short trip into an alternate French Concession existence with 'Future Life'...
'Future Life' is out now on streaming services.
