Premiere: Guardian Singles Video For 'Pit Viper'

With songs that drip acid onto metal, Aotearoa post-punk all-stars Guardian Singles now add venom to the mix, today sharing their insane video for ‘Pit Viper’ from their latest studio album Feed Me To The Doves. Directed by Luke McPake, who animated the band’s psychedelic video for ‘Manic Attraction’, the new clip stars singer / guitarist Thom Burton (Crash Teslas) in "a semi-beautiful nightmare, in which I am clearly the hero" — made with support from NZ On Air. Cinematographer Dave Garbett (Evil Dead Rise, Sweet Tooth) captures Burton trying to outrun a bright solar-like entity through the desolate Woodhill Forest, shot there courtesy of Ngā Maunga Whakahii o Kaipara. His emotional journey is intriguingly shown through the symbolism of a getaway car, a rising bubble of blood and his relationship to this piercing light. With sound design from i.e. crazy, the swash of noise fades at a particular section to give attention to a key turning point in our hero’s journey.
