Mogwai New Zealand Supports Announced - Hail, Meteor! and Celine

Returning to Aotearoa for the first time in eight years, Scottish avant-rock soundscapers Mogwai have revealed special guests for their summer headline dates at Pōneke's The Opera House and Tāmaki Makaurau's The Powerstation. Led by Rob Lundon and Andrew Moon, Celine's lineage threads through Aotearoa's vibrant '90s noise / free music community and even earlier — Moon was drummer for legendary '80s Flying Nunsters Goblin Mix and Lundon's projects included noiseniks Pit Viper (namechecked on the latest Guardian Singles album) — recently reactivated as a live group with bassist Kirsten Smith and drummer Marty Doo. The four-piece of Isobel Joy te Aho-White, David Coventry, Simon Waterfield and John Kingston, Hail, Meteor!'s bilingual, heavily distorted post-punk / death-pop anthems can be experienced on their 2023 debut collection 4th Horse.
