Listen To Yurt Party's Single 'Hoi Polloi'
Spreading the gospel of dancefloor-igniting Balkan / Latin / dub nationwide this autumn, Yurt Party have stealthily popped the cork on new single 'Hoi Polloi', the Ōtautahi ensemble's first official release since their popular 2023 self-titled debut album. Playful horn toots set an energising scene recalling Raymond Scott's cartoon classic favourite 'Powerhouse', before spiralling strings take centre stage, whipping up a foot-stomping ruckus reminding these ears of the cantankerous genre-fusing spirit of acts like Danny Elfman's group Oingo Boingo (particularly the evocative xylophone-like passages). In their element live, go catch Yurt Party in full flight from this Friday onwards, kicking their ten date tour off at Errick’s in Ōtepoti...
