Yurt Party Announce 'Hoi Polloi' Single Release Tour
It’s nearly time to pitch a massive tent for everyone's favourite Balkan / Latin / dub collective from Ōtautahi — Yurt Party — back on tour duty after selling out a nationwide run of headline shows last year. Spending summer dispensing grooves at such high profile events as Festival Of Lights and Nostalgia Festival, Yurt Party are hitting the rest of Aotearoa from mid-March onwards, playing a ten date launch tour for their forthcoming single ‘Hoi Polloi’. Greek for "riff raff, for the masses," ‘Hoi Polloi’ is the lead cut from an as-yet-untitled new Yurt Party album, laid down at their hometown's LOHO Studios and slated for late 2024 release. Keys player Tom Harris revealed he recently learned of his own Greek heritage via a DNA test...
"That was the cherry on top, discovering that some of these sounds I’ve always been drawn to are part of my history."
