A self-proclaimed "disillusioned dreamer", Holly Arrowsmith is unafraid of disclosing fear and rage in themes such as parenthood, loss and mental health struggles on her new album Blue Dreams. Now a two-time winner of the APRA Best Country Music Song Award, most recently for included single 'Desert Dove', elements of Americana and alt-country are split across varying energetic halves across her third long player. Instrumental contributors include Cass Basil, Alex Freer, Tom Healy (all of Tiny Ruins) and Anita Clark aka Motte, whose soaring string arrangements bolster the perspective of 'Night Flight'. Arrowsmith croons, "I should’ve been a lion when I was a lamb" in 'Could've Been A River', the song's vivid imagery inspired by poet Mary Oliver. This rich record took over three years, produced and engineered by Healy at Tāmaki Makaurau’s The Lab.

Holly Arrowsmith has just announced a big Australasian album release tour, including four headline dates in Aotearoa with an array of special guests, plus two gigs across the ditch in Victoria. Tomorrow, you can catch Arrowsmith's free in-store performance at Tāmaki's Flying Out store, followed by a sold-out Listening Party at Ōtautahi's new Flying Nun store. Don't miss Arrowsmith celebrating her magnificent Blue Dreams
