French For Rabbits Unveil New Single & Video 'Gold & Blue' - Touring Nationwide

It's been a minute since French for Rabbits regaled fans with their In the End I Won’t Be Coming Home EP in late '23 (bundled on vinyl with their 2012 debut collection Claimed by the Sea). Brooke Singer and band have finally emerged from Pōneke studio hibernation, revealing magical new single 'Gold & Blue' plus a gorgeous montage — some footage filmed by Bill Bycroft, some found — directed / edited by Martin Sagadin.

Alchemising elements of dream-pop, avant-folk and even a bracing dose of heavy-psych / prog-rock, 'Gold & Blue' is a standalone release written "not long before the arrival of... Brooke Singer’s now 10-month old son". Co-written with Georgia Lines and Jol Mulholland (who also produced and engineered the final version) during a 2024 APRA songhub, the audio-visual work is enthralling teaser for French For Rabbits' winter tour, playing a round of dates with Michael Llewellyn and band, who are in turn celebrating the release of Llewellyn's darkly poetic new record I'm Gorgeous — commencing this week in Ōtautahi Christchurch...

"For the video, we wanted to throw the listener through time and space, feel a gasp for breath as they tumble them through the present and past to moments of change, connection, and fluctuation."
